Avoid racist or negative comments on facebook twitter social media
Posting negative or racist comments online is obviously an incredibly stupid thing to do. This one should be a no-brainer, but sadly and strangely there are still lots of small-minded people out there with very little grey matter existing between their ears.
While people will say that they’re entitled to their views, the reality is that you actually won’t get away with hateful or racist commentary in most States. Just a few months ago, the equal rights organization Black Lives Matters freely publicly admitted that they were regularly reviewing random social media posts on Twitter and Facebook and would take a screen shot of any post they construed as racist, and then send a letter or email to the poster’s employer suggesting the company may want to consider taking action against that employee.
While this may seem like an overly aggressive approach to the problem, it still happens. Unfortunately, many poor employees have been wrongfully terminated as their online posts may have been taken out of context, or maybe not. The tactic is not new, however, as most big companies take employees’ actions seriously. Especially when those actions can lead to a highly negative public impression of that same company having racist, religious, or some other controversial views.
In general, whatever your stance on anything, negative comments are almost always best kept to yourself. This is one highly contentious area which many companies will not even tolerate. If you post nasty, bigoted or racist comments on Twiiter, Facebook or other social media, it can essentially render you absolutely un-hireable for many other jobs. Unless of course you want to work for a company that’s as nasty, racist or bigoted as yourself. In which case we’d like to genuinely wish you the very worst of luck in getting a job. Any kind of job!
