Put everything in its place so you can find it quickly
Are you like me? Do you always forget where you put your damn car keys or wallet or purse? Many homes now have multiple remotes for the cable, DVD player, stereo system, and whatever other modern technology you use to play around on Netflix. So just how often do you, or another family member, stupidly misplace the remote control, only to then spend 15 or 30 minutes looking frantically for it because you don’t actually know how to otherwise operate the stereo or television?
It can be incredibly frustrating, losing the remote control.
It doesn’t have to be this way. It won’t be, if you make a conscious decision, that all the remotes go on a certain table. If you do something as simple as that then that 10-15 minutes spent looking for a remote control will just simply disappear. This is the case for many folks, but so is losing keys, wallets, pens and paper, hairbrushes, lighters, and just about any small thing that travels—yes, including your little baby!
By properly training yourself to put your hairbrush, keys, remote controls, wallets, purses, and anything else you normally misplace in a very specific place, every day you come home from work you will essentially evaporate all of that horribly wasted time and energy looking for those misplaced items. With these few changes – i.e. putting everything in a certain place – we are likely save anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes a day that we could have spent looking for items.
Now…where did I leave my keys? And my wallet!
Remember people, just put everything in its right place and you’ll save you and your family members buckets of time. And you won’t miss the start of your favourite TV game show or major sports event.
