Remember that the little things count in saving time everyday
Our last tip was all about listing your time, and this one really goes in tow with that one. Basically, the more that you can get done in your day, the more that you will feel as if you actually owned the day.
Yes, sometimes it pays off to sweat the small stuff. Or just get it all done so that your day is less stressful.
The thing is that it is often those small tasks that we feel we can just push off. This is mainly because those small tasks don’t really take very much time, and therefore we think that we will just do them at the very end of the day…you know, when we are feeling tired, hungry, stressed, annoyed, and sometimes just feel defeated. For far too many folks the end of the day often feels like this only because of just how little they actually got done.
Seriously people, you can really save a whole lot of time by just taking care of those small annoying tasks at the very beginning of your day. Just imagine having something like ten check boxes filled by noon, rather than only one or two. It really makes a really big difference when you’re heading into the latter part of your day. Plus, remember that by doing those smaller tasks first, you may find that you are also completing some parts of your larger tasks.
So whether it’s getting batteries for your remote control, sending your Nanny a birthday card, getting a new front door key cut, paying off a utility bill or whatever else is on your to-do list, just get it done. You’ll feel so much better as all of the seemingly small things really all add up. So get the small things done. You’ll be grateful that you did.
